Christmas Tree

Getting Started

Always use your imagination and be creative when building this project or any others. It's your creation, so be inventive when looking for building supplies you just may be surprised! When building your project, experiment with new and different ways of putting it together. The most important thing is to have fun!

1Find these or similar supplies!

• One wooden stick or long paper towel tube
• Green craft paper
• Masking tape
• One paper plate
• Some paper clips

1. Draw some patterns!

To start out you will want to draw some patterns for your trees branches. I decided to use green craft paper, but you could use any color you want.

2. Cut out your branches!

I chose to make my tree branches different sizes to give my tree a more natural look. You can make your branches have spiky needles like mine or do any shape you like. Its your tree so have fun!

3. Make a LOT!

Make a lot! You will need a bunch of branches to fully cover your tree’s trunk.

4. Color your branches!

If you only have plain paper you can always just color your branches green with a marker or some paint!

65. Make a base!

To make my tree trunk I took a wooden stick and poked it through the top of the paper plate. This will make a nice sturdy base for your tree to stand on. If you don’t have a long stick like mine you can use a long cardboard tube, or maybe a branch from outside. Be creative!

76. Attach your trunk to the base!

Next, tape your wooden stick or cardboard tube securely to the plate. I covered my paper plate in green tape, but you could use paint, markers, or whatever you like best.

7. Attach your branches!

To attach your branches you can simply tape or glue them directly onto the trunk, but I chose to tape on some paper clips. This gives you a place to easily hang your branches.

98. Finish your trunk!

Continue taping the paper clips all the way up your tree trunk. The paper clips are nice because you can bend and twist them to get your tree branches looking perfect.

109. Tape up your trunk!

I put lots of tape on my tree trunk to make it look like bark. Once you have your trunk the way you like it make sure to color it before you put the branches on.

1110. Attach your branches and decorate your tree!

The final step is attaching your branches. I just put a piece of tape on the underside of my branches, securing them to the paper clips. I started from the bottom and worked my way up. Voila! Your cool Christmas Tree is complete. Don’t forget to make some ornaments!
