Getting Started

Always use your imagination and be creative when building this project or any others. It's your creation, so be inventive when looking for building supplies — you just may be surprised! When building your project, experiment with new and different ways of putting it together. The most important thing is to have fun!

 

SupliesFind these or similar supplies!

  • Egg Carton
  • Masking tape or glue
  • Some old cardboard or construction paper
  • Markers or pens for customizing
  • Pipe cleaners

 

111. Cut out the body!

The first step to building your very own Egg Carton Ladybug is cutting out one section of egg carton. This will be your ladybug’s body.

52. Color the body!

Now its time to color your ladybug. Try any color you want, and have fun putting on lots of little spots all over the shell.

133. Add legs!

Take your pipe cleaners and cut out six small legs. Next cut some small strips of tape and secure your legs inside the egg carton as shown. When you are done you can bend your legs as needed to make your ladybug stand up.

64. Add eyes and antennae!

The last step is making the eyes. I make my eyes from small paper circles that I cut out. Glue or tape them onto the front of your bug.

5. Finished!

Voila! Your Egg Carton Ladybug is completed.
This project only takes minutes so have fun and build your ladybug some friends!
