Paper Airplane Carrier

Getting Started

Always use your imagination and be creative when building this project or any others. It's your creation, so be inventive when looking for building supplies you just may be surprised! When building your project, experiment with new and different ways of putting it together. The most important thing is to have fun!

Find these or similar supplies!

  • Two milk or juice cartons
  • Masking tape
  • Soapbox
  • Piece of cardboard
  • Markers or pens for customizing
  • Paper (for the airplanes)

1. Lets get started!

Start out by laying the milk cartons end to end. Place your cardboard on top and trim it to the size you like. There are very few pieces to this project, so the set up is very simple and easy.

2. Start taping!

The next step is to start taping your carrier. The taped cartons will be your ships hull, and the soapbox will become your bridge.

3. Attach the cardboard!

Now you can glue or tape on your ships deck piece. Make sure to keep it centered on the milk cartons.

4. Runways!

The next step is drawing or taping on the runway. I decided to use some blue tape for my runway, but you can also use a ruler and some markers.

5. Build the bridge!

You can add all kinds of fun things to your bridge. Look around your house for toothpicks, bottle caps, dental floss containers, etc. With a few little gadgets and lots of imagination you will have a cool bridge fit for an admiral!

6. Make airplanes!

The last step is building your aircraft! I made a ton of tiny paper airplanes and colored them with some markers. I also added a few dotted lines for my runway and parking spots.

6. Finish your Aircraft Carrier!

VOILA! Your Paper Airplane Carrier is complete and ready to sail the seven seas! Have fun!
